FAQs

Commonly asked questions

Will you be available to answer questions by phone or email after taking the course/tutorial session?

A positive outcome for all my students is most important to me. Most of my students are still in touch with me. They ask questions from time to time or share their work with me. If you have any follow-up questions about the topics we cover in our workshop sessions, email or call me. I am here to answer all your questions and concerns.

However, we cannot extend a 5/10-hour workshop into a month-long version. What you can achieve in 5 or 10 hours will be limited. You will have a good understanding of how to work in SketchUp. You will be able to create basic 3D models on your computer. You will gain confidence in 3D modelling, and you will have fun doing it.

Many of my students are booking further sessions after the first course, both online and in person. It all depends on what you are aiming for. It is just like learning to play the piano. You will need to practice a lot to become really good, and you need to practice every single day.

Can I add a course certificate to my LinkedIn page or my CV?

Yes! You will receive a Completion Certificate at the end of each course.

Do you teach anything else apart from SketchUp Pro?

I aim to provide you with all the relevant SketchUp knowledge for your individual needs. However, my professional life is all about Interior Design and visual storytelling - and that for a very long time. Therefore, if it fits in a tutorial session or training day, I am more than happy to share my experiences, processes, and preferred hardware and software choices with you.
I also teach about SketchUp-related plugins, such as the Enscape real-time render program, Layout, the SketchUp companion program, and other relevant SketchUp plugins for Interior Designers.

Do you teach 3D planning programs other than SketchUp?

I currently don’t teach any other CAD or architectural design programs. I focus purely on extracting the maximum out of SketchUp for professional use as an Interior Designer. I am a strong believer that SketchUp Pro and SketchUp Layout are the only two applications you will ever need in a small to medium-sized Interior Design business environment. From initial concept work to elaborate client presentations to project documents for the building trade, you can do almost anything with SketchUp.

Personally, no other 3D design tool would allow me to produce the large number of 3D drawings and 3D models each year the way SketchUp does. SketchUp is my creative tool of choice, and you should consider it, too.

However, as in other aspects of life, SketchUp is just a tool. Ultimately, what you create with it is crucial. An expensive camera does not make you a good photographer. The same applies to the hardware and software you use in your professional life.

Nevertheless, I am closely observing the ever-evolving digital design and drawing tools market. I am visiting trade-shows and testing other software options for our industry. So far, nothing has convinced me to try SketchUp for longer or to switch. Having said that, SketchUp is by no means perfect. There is plenty of room for improvement. I have a long wish-list that I would like to see implemented sooner rather than later.

Do you give public group courses?

Very soon! I am working on a series of workshops for individual participants in London. They will be for small groups, with a maximum of 10-15 seats. Make sure you are subscribed to my newsletter, and you will be the first to know.
